We've been working on a very cool bucket list trip for a retired couple to Hawaii next summer, and this dreary day has us wondering: where do YOU want to escape to?

Part three of our adventure for the birthday boy concludes with some favorites and a bucket list resort checked off our list!

🛰️ Visited Kennedy Space Center and explored the (new to us!) Gantry 39 as well as our favorite, the Apollo/Saturn V Center! (Not pictured is the Atlantis exhibit, those are on Scott’s phone since Meg’s died halfway through our day, oops!)
🍹 Dinner at Scott’s favorite Universal CityWalk restaurant, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, where a lovely gentleman made Nick a balloon “long dog”!
🌴 We FINALLY got to stay at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort!!! The kid’s suite was fantastic and the pool was incredible!
🛬 Sadly we had to fly home, where Grandpa took advantage of Nick’s backpack to tickle and keep him occupied until it was our turn to deplane.

🏖️ Our first visit to Disney’s Vero Beach, and it won’t be our last! From fun in the sand and waves to a delicious meal at Wind and Waves Grill where we celebrated his birthday in style, this resort quickly became one of our favorites, and we will be back!!!

Travel Tuesday has us traveling to a “new to us” destination, but we wanted to let you in on a little something about our day yesterday at Universal Orlando Resort: BEST DAY EVER, thanks to their accessibility initiatives for mobility aids AND sensory issues!

♿️ Scooter use: Simple water taxi load and unload, compassionate security, team members at Hogwarts Express helping us troubleshoot our scooter (we didn’t know the parking brake was still on, oops!), and dedicated parade viewing for mobility aid users AND a family member, with easy access to them just behind the corded off area!

🦋 We didn’t use the accessibility service this trip since rides weren’t our priority, but team members were SO good about recognizing Nick’s differences and allowing him the time he needed to process. A snowflake character from the parade even asked him if he wanted to high five (she was on stilts) and he did! Such great inclusion for all walks of life!

Today we are thankful for bucket list experiences we've been able to enjoy, and possibly more importantly the bucket list experiences we've been able to help other families enjoy! Like a multi-generational family of 18 visiting Disney World together, and adult siblings honoring their father by visiting a national park he loved with their own children, and even a mom taking her kids on their first cruise together. Thank you!

Today we are thankful for bucket list experiences we've been able to enjoy, and possibly more importantly the bucket list experiences we've been able to help other families enjoy! Let's chat about Disney's newest private 'island' experience, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point!

Pros:
🇧🇸 Immerse your children in Bahamian culture with Junkanoo experiences and Disney flair!
🏖 Incredible Bahamian blue water and gentle surf that (99% of the time) you'll feel comfortable letting your littles play in the waves without hovering too closely!
🍦All the icecream cones and snacks your heart could desire!

Cons:
👣 There is a LOT of walking, including the pier pictured which is nearly a half mile long!
🌴 The area is still growing in so it will feel a little sparse in some areas, though the natural walking areas are still BEAUTIFUL!
🚍 The doors to the trams to get you to the island are NARROW and not easy to navigate, so PLEASE be cautious if you have mobility issues or have wide hips!

Overall we think that Lookout Point is a beautiful destination that has plenty of room for improvement, and with the right group we would happily go back! Are you excited to check it out?
